Development plan DB area Basel

The core idea for the redevelopment of the former freight depot area of the Deutsche Bahn in Basel is a large-area city park that will provide the surrounding neighborhood with fresh air. Low commercial buildings form the borders as noise protection zones. In the middle of the motorway junction, five sail-shaped skyscrapers that deflect the east wind mimic the dynamic city gates. The small-scale residential buildings blend in over time in the park, and frame the village squares that lie within as a harmonic cluster.
